Information Technology Solutions is proud to recognize Network Administrator, David Mackay, as our March 2019, Employee of the Month. David has been involved with several important projects and activities recently including troubleshooting network issues with customers, network equipment installations, cable pulling, and removal and pickup of end of life equipment—often working late at night to complete projects and respond to outages. Notably, David played an important role in the rollout of the new Appetize Point of Sale system.

According to award nominations received, David consistently exhibits an eagerness to learn and is always quick to voluteer his time regardless of the task. David is always professional and polite to both colleagues and customers, often makeing time to mentor other technicians and share his knowledge, as well as taking care to explain issues in layman's terms. His technical skills and drive to learn are complimented well by his ever positive, happy attitude. David seems to always have a smile on his face and is a pleasure to work with.

One of the things David loves about working for UCR is the breadth of technology that we employ on campus. He said, “It creates a satisfying challenge to learn and understand the technology in the hopes to improve upon it.” David is also excited about the future of our campus network. “I feel that every time I complete another project, that I am one step closer to furthering our goal of a faster yet simpler network, which provides a better experience for our customers.”
