UCR Information Technology Solutions (ITS) is pleased to announce the installation of two convenient new laptop checkout kiosks, which will be available for UCR students beginning on April 15, 2019. One Kiosk is located in the Rivera Library and the other in the Orbach Science Library. Each laptop kiosk houses 30 laptop computers including 12 MacBook Pros, 12 Dell Latitudes, and 6 Dell Chromebooks. The new laptop kiosks were made possible by funds from the Student Technology Fee (STF). Plans to add two additional kiosks jointly funded by the Provost's Office and ITS are also underway.

  1. Flexibility: Students can take the same applications and software available at the UCR computer labs with them on the go.
  2. Security: When a laptop is returned, the student's personal information and activity is automatically erased.
  3. Convenience: Easy check out & return process with the ability to keep the laptop for a 24-hour period.

Check out a laptop in three easy steps. Step 1. Visit a kiosk in the Rivera or Orbach Library. Step 2. Select your device, then swipe your R'Card and login. Sept 3. Use the device anywhere on or off campus.
