Need some inspiration?

There are numerous ways you can protect and secure your data at UCR. It could be something as simple as remembering to lock your computer screen before you leave your desk. It can be something you’ve already done or are setting a goal to do in the future. Please be creative, and remember that all cybersecurity efforts are important no matter how large or small. Here is a link to an article we recently published with cybersecurity tips that may help you to generate some ideas. Feel free to use one of the examples in the article or come up with your own. Link to article: 20 tips to own, protect, and secure your data at UCR.

Tips for producing your video:

  • Using a cell phone camera is great; film it yourself, or ask a friend for help.
  • If using your phone, turn it sideways so the video has a horizontal orientation.
  • Please keep your video under 60-seconds.
  • Be sure to introduce yourself and affiliation with UCR, and mention that you're making the video as part of UCR's CyberSmart Challenge. Below is a sample script for an individual participant.
Hello, my name is ___________, {optional UCR affiliation here}, and I’m participating in the UCR Cyber Smart Challenge. What I’m doing this year to be CyberSmart is: _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________.

Once again, my name is _____________, {optional UCR affiliation here}, and I’m CyberSmart!
