UCR ITS launched the Loan2Learn (L2L) Program for students in need of off-campus access to a learning device. Any student who does not have off-campus access to internet or a device that supports remote teaching and learning—such as a laptop, desktop, or tablet—may apply to the L2L Program.
How to Order
Complete the Loan2Learn Application Form in the UCR ServiceLink Portal.
An internet hotspot or loaner laptop can be provided to any UCR student who meets the following criteria:
- The applicant must be currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program at the University of California, Riverside, enrolled in a class during the semester of requested use, and facing financial hardship.
- Other possible options and resources must have been considered and determined to be insufficient or unavailable.
- If requested, the applicant must be able to provide sufficient evidence or documentation of financial hardship.
Availability is dependent on inventory. In the event the student has been approved but the requested loaner device is not available, the student will be placed on a wait list.
The cost of the service is covered by central IT funding from UCR Information Technology Solutions.
Students approved for the program who live locally in Riverside County will be asked to schedule an on-campus pick up of their device. Students who live outside of Riverside County may request to have their device(s) shipped. ITS is not liable for shipping delays or issues. Students are responsible for caring for their devices and returning them in the same condition in which they were loaned.
