The mission of the Campus Infrastructure Services Division is to architect, build, operate, and enhance infrastructure in support of the academic, research, clinical, and administrative functions of UC Riverside. The Campus Infrastructure team specializes in infrastructure that maximizes performance, security, and availability while providing information-rich technologies that support a global, diverse, and liberated community of learning.  Under the strategic leadership of the Deputy Chief Technology Officer the team strives to meet these objectives by:

  • Creating an environment for online learning that supports the University’s academic vision.
  • Providing supportive, stable, and effective operational infrastructure for technology by leveraging standards-based hardware and software supported by expert IT professionals.
  • Developing industry practices and policies that facilitate reliable and effective university enterprise IT architecture.
  • Partnering with stakeholders to review and reengineer organizational processes that support the University’s mission, fueling future technological capabilities, services, and applications that further elevate UC Riverside.
  • Network Engineering and Operations

    The Network Engineering and Operations team is responsible for engineering, designing, configuring, managing, securing, monitoring, and upgrading the UC Riverside’s complex wired, wireless, and telephony network environments. Overall, the team provides reliable and responsive network and telecommunication services, including remote campus support and management, through services such as:

    • Dynamic hosting control protocols (DHCP)
    • Firewalls
    • Switching and Routing
    • IP address management
    • Monitoring and trending tools
    • Telephony
    • University internet connectivity
    • Virtual private network (VPN)
    • Surveillance Cameras

  • Systems Engineering and Operations

    The Systems Engineering and Operations team is responsible for engineering and maintaining UC Riverside’s server, storage, and cloud infrastructure services. The team also manages effective disaster and business continuity practices. Overall, the team delivers optimal systems infrastructure and superior performance in support of enterprise solutions, which includes the following services:

  • Database Engineering

    The Database Engineering team is responsible for engineering, designing, configuring, managing, securing, monitoring, and upgrading UC Riverside’s various database services. The team defines architecture standards and optimal performance for database administration, as well as manages effective disaster recovery and business continuity practices.
