Benefits to Faculty and Staff

Previously, the self-service feature of the UCR Software Catalog was only available to students. The service has now been expanded to support faculty and staff, offering the following benefits:

  • Complimentary Access to Specialized Software: All software provided through the UCR Software Catalog is licensed for campus use.
  • Simplified Software Management Experience: Faculty and staff with admin access to their work device can directly download and install the software they need. Those on IT-managed devices can contact ITS BearHelp if they are unable to access the software through their device’s service center.
  • Increased Flexibility: The software catalog can be accessed from anywhere so faculty and staff can install the software they need whether on or off campus.

More titles will be added to the roster in the coming months. It is important to note that certain specialized software (e.g., Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe) will still require users to submit a software request to ITS.

If you have questions about the UCR Software Catalog or would like to request IT assistance on the download and installation process, please contact BearHelp at 951-827-4848 or submit a ticket.
