Information Technology Solutions (ITS) is pleased to announce that as of Fall 2025, UCR staff are now on Gmail and Google Calendar, joining faculty and students on a single email and calendaring platform. Guided by campus leadership, this monumental initiative was accomplished through the collaborative effort of all campus units involved.
A Campus Win: UCR Ascends to Common, Sustainable, and User-friendly Platforms
Staff migration to the Google email and calendaring platform, formerly called R’Mail, began over a year ago. From being an opt-in program, the effort steadily progressed after gaining interest from campus leadership. Campus units that bravely jumped into the opportunity to move to Gmail before the rest of campus were provided with specialized training and support. As more campus units expressed their interest in moving, ITS offered monthly informational sessions and open office hours.
Now, UCR staff, faculty, and students are unified in a single platform, empowering efficient and more convenient communication and collaboration across campus.
