Monitoring a Vendor Incident

Our Information Security Office has been notified that one of our cybersecurity partners—a vendor providing Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) services—recently experienced a security incident within their non-production (testing) environment.

There is currently no indication of any impact to UC Riverside or UC systems. The vendor’s investigation indicates that their production environments—the systems that actively protect our devices—remained secure. Furthermore, there is no evidence that any unauthorized changes were made to the software or that the code was exploited. Our security tools remain fully operational and continue to protect our campus as intended.

No action is required from the campus community at this time. Our Information Security Office continues to monitor the situation closely and remains in frequent contact with UCOP and the vendor.
