Affiliate Application Developer Qamar Stationwala stands out as an exemplary team member whose innovative work has significantly improved the user experience and efficiency of the UCR Jobs Portal.

Nominated by Disha Kibria and Andrew Cullum, Qamar led the implementation of the federated login system for the UCR Jobs Portal and helped streamline the entire recruitment process by integrating the HRMS Recruitment and Applicant Tracking System with the UCR Jobs Portal.

Disha Kibria, Associate Director of HR/APO Systems, shared, "Qamar's innovation with the federated login system exemplifies a commitment to improving user experience and streamlining internal processes. This solution positions UCR at the forefront of [the] applicant experience within the university system and demonstrates a thoughtful approach to leveraging technology for efficiency."

Qamar’s dedication to customer success and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency while minimizing disruptions can be seen throughout the organization. As Disha mentioned in her nomination:

“Qamar independently and proactively met with [the] ITS Help Desk and planned communication [and] job aids, [and] anticipated post-deployment questions. The best part is, this login system and the Jobs Portal application in general have not generated any help desk calls to date.”

Andrew Cullum, Lead Application Developer, commended Qamar for his exceptional teamwork and collaboration while working on the new campus Jobs Portal and Applicant Tracking System. Andrew shared, "Qamar is always ready to learn new technologies and processes to help out where needed." Qamar's quick learning abilities and willingness to assist his team members have been invaluable in driving the project’s success.

Dedicated to innovative solutions, Qamar selected a new, scalable technology stack for the Jobs Portal and Application Tracking System. Andrew noted Qamar’s forward-thinking approach: 

“Qamar implemented the entire system using NestJS with MongoDB on Google Cloud, demonstrating his willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. This choice positions the platform for scalability and future growth. Perhaps more notably, this was our first implementation of federated login using Google, Microsoft, and LinkedIn accounts (with more to come), relieving us of the need to manage logins for thousands of applicants locally.

Qamar’s technical prowess, dedication to customer success, and collaborative spirit have been instrumental in innovating applications and optimizing internal processes, making him a deserving candidate for recognition and appreciation within the ITS community.
