The Core Workfront Implementation Team is recognized for their outstanding leadership, collaboration, and technical expertise in successfully implementing the Workfront project management tool across ITS. Their efforts have significantly enhanced project management processes within ITS and increased the organization’s transparency and effectiveness.
Patrick Wagman, Associate Director of the PMO, highlighted the team’s consistent dedication to finding the right project portfolio management (PPM) tool for ITS—from developing business requirements, to assessing products, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure that the tool is tailored to ITS’ needs. The team’s meticulous approach laid the foundation for a successful implementation of a transformative project management solution.
"The Core Workfront Implementation Team meticulously gathered and developed over 85 business requirements to ensure that the selected PPM tool would meet ITS’ specific needs. Their thorough assessment of available products and close coordination with ITS stakeholders were crucial for the project’s success," Patrick shared. The rigorous evaluation ensured that the chosen platform could support diverse project management methodologies across ITS.
Once Workfront was chosen, the team’s technical expertise shone through in the configuration and implementation stage. As Patrick elaborated:
The team’s decisions regarding the configuration of Workfront were crucial in enabling its adoption by Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and various teams. Their expert implementation has allowed us to manage projects more efficiently, as the configured system supports the management of waterfall, hybrid, and agile projects.
The Core Workfront Implementation Team worked directly with 120 ITS users to ensure a smooth transition to the new platform. They developed and delivered comprehensive training materials, conducted training sessions, and continue to provide ongoing support to address any issues or questions. Their efforts have not only improved project management but also empowered teams to choose the methodology that best suits their needs.
Patrick also highlighted the team’s role in developing robust IT governance intake and reporting capabilities within Workfront, which has become an essential tool for guiding decision-making across the organization. The reporting feature provides critical insights that help projects align with strategic objectives, ensuring that the organization’s goals are met.
