ITS proudly recognizes the Student Information Systems (SIS) Banner Team as the Summer 2025 Team of the Quarter! Nominated by Nan Jiang, the group is celebrated for their reliable and responsive support, which plays a key role in UC Riverside’s ability to effectively support students and ensures the smooth operation of essential university functions.
The team is comprised of:
Cliff Veasey Associate Director, Student Systems | Deidra May Lead Banner Infrastructure Architect | Donna Mobley Lead Student Systems Developer | Fernando Ramos Financial Aid Systems Analyst | Hak Lee Manager, SIS Operations and Support |
Jack Luther Student Systems Developer | James Fox Lead Registrar Systems Analyst | Nan Jiang Senior Application Developer | Olivia Salinas Student Systems Developer | Ramya Reddy Peddabachagari Integration Developer |
The SIS Banner Team, led by Cliff Veasey, has positively impacted the entire campus community by supporting critical university functions that benefit students, faculty, and administrative offices.
One of their major contributions is the development and support of the Cross Campus Enrollment System (CCES). Through this application, students can register for courses at other University of California campuses, providing them greater academic flexibility. This offering exemplifies UCR’s commitment to academic opportunity and student success.
The team also recently completed a crucial project wherein they automated the transmission of Title IX training enrollments to the UC Office of the President (UCOP) and the reception of compliance reports. This automation is vital for maintaining a safe and equitable campus environment by ensuring all students comply with Title IX requirements.
The team is currently engaged in an initiative to help the School of Medicine (SOM) by automating many of their manual processes. By centralizing all student data, including that of SOM students, into the Banner system, the team is streamlining operations for other applications that rely on this data. Moreover, this project is improving student data accuracy, report generation efficiency, and data consistency across the university.
Beyond major projects, the SIS Banner Team consistently demonstrates dedication and effective collaboration in their daily work. They diligently resolve issues and complete requests from numerous departments, including the Office of the Registrar, UCR Summer Sessions, the Office of Financial Aid, and Intercollegiate Athletics. With their reliable and responsive support, the SIS Banner Team contributes to the success of the university’s daily operations.
