Our Mission

Welcome to the Survey Insights Center. Our goal is to support the campus community in gathering high-quality data while respecting the time and attention of our students, faculty, and staff.

We view surveys as a critical method of data collection. To drive data-informed decision-making, we provide consultation services to ensure you are asking the right questions, at the right time, to the right people.

Help Us Build the Student Survey Inventory!

To better serve the campus, we are building a comprehensive student survey inventory. This will provide visibility into who is being surveyed, when, and about what, to help facilitate cross-campus collaboration and data access. Once available, the student survey inventory will be accessible via Looker.


We need your help. If you are currently administering a student survey, have one planned, or possess historical survey data, please let us know.

By sharing your student survey details, you help the campus:

  • Identify gaps in our current data.
  • Prevent students from receiving duplicate questions.
  • Create a shared platform for data insights.

The Survey Insights Center is a new campus initiative. Whether you are a Dean, department chair, business analyst, or communication specialist at UCR, we are here to actively support your data needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • To request a consultation, please email our Survey Researcher at datastudent6@ucr.edu and share the basic details of your project. This will allow our team, led by the campus Chief Data Officer, to prepare for your consultation.

  • We work in close collaboration with Student Affairs and Institutional Research.

    • If your inquiry is specific to Student Affairs programming, continue to utilize your existing channels.
    • However, if you are unsure, or if your survey overlaps with broader campus data, please email our Survey Researcher at datastudent6@ucr.edu. We will coordinate behind the scenes to ensure you are routed to the correct expert and that your survey is logged in the central inventory.
