Information Technology Solutions (ITS) is proud to introduce software virtualization through Apporto, UC Riverside's newest virtual computer lab (VLab) service. Specialized instructional/classroom software can now be easily accessed and run from within an internet browser. Students and faculty simply need to visit http://ucr.apporto.com/ and log in using their NetID credentials to access the UCR Virtual Lab app store.
Users of the new Virtual Lab can upload a document from their computer hard drive or storage device into the virtual environment, work on their documents using the desired application, and then download a copy of their new or revised document onto their computer hard drive or storage device. This feature, along with many others, make the new UCR VLab app store a convenient and user-friendly way for students to perform their coursework without needing to obtain a software license or use a specific computer operating system.
The new UCR Virtual Lab through Apporto was made possible by the Student Technology Fee (STF).
