ITS is proud to announce Azra Ayers as the December 2022 Employee of the Month! 

Azra was nominated by Kathleen Rondeau-Taylor, Patrick Wagman, and Rehan Tahir for her commitment to the Impact23 Boundary Systems project. 

Azra improved communication and coordination of the Impact23 program through her organization, collaborative spirit, and tenacity.  

Josh Hoerger, BFS Financial Systems Project Manager, contributed to the nomination stating, “Since Azra joined the Impact23 program earlier this year, specifically with Boundary Systems, she has brought her characteristic organization, collaboration, transparency, and “get-it-done” attitude. Those of us outside of ITS have benefited greatly from this, and her move to this role filled a big gap in communication and coordination. From where I sit, she’s a great ambassador to represent ITS campus-wide, and to fulfill the goals set forth by the ITS organization, the campus, and the Impact23 program.” 

Azra makes sure projects stay on track and progress despite challenges that arise. She makes sure that quality results are delivered within the designated timeframe.  

Max Thakar, ITS Impact23 Program Manager, elaborates “Azra has a good understanding of UCR‘s technical teams and how to motivate developers to meet project requirements and needs. With Impact23, which has various boundary systems, she was able to quickly understand objectives, get organized, and have separate teams deliver results within tight deadlines without compromising quality. Her passion and energy for delivering excellent results is admirable." 

Azra effectively manages both the technical and functional teams involved with Impact23.  

“Azra continuously involves the technical and functional teams involved in various project activities,” says Patrick Wagman, ITS Associate Director of Portfolio Management and ITSM. “She has a talent for including input from the teams while helping to steer decisions to support the strategic planning objectives of the organization. In her weekly stand-up meetings with development teams, she ensures that the projects are moving toward their end goals.” 

Azra also helps to ensure that ITS’ solutions fit the needs and demands of customers.   

"Azra is dedicated to ensuring that ITS customers, both internal and external, have the best systems to meet their requirements and support business processes,” said Patrick. “This includes making sure that ITS is able to make the appropriate technical decisions and that the business users make the decisions needed to support their business processes.” 

ITS Associate Director of Portfolio Management and ITSM, Rehan Tahir, adds, “Azra continues to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to excellence in the projects she is involved in.”
