ITS proudly recognizes Edwin Melgar as the May 2023 Employee of the Month. 

Edwin was nominated by Kathleen Rondeau-Taylor for his outstanding leadership in the FAMIS 360 transition project, an initiative that ITS is undertaking in collaboration with Facilities Services and Auxiliary Services. 

As a Business Analyst, Edwin is supporting Facilities Services’ transition from their legacy work order system, FAMIS Classic, to the new system, FAMIS 360. He is doing so by sharing his extensive knowledge about campus and auxiliary processes with the project team and providing well-informed solutions to ensure the successful delivery of the project. 

Alan Siero, Facilities Services’ Business & Process Analyst, recognized Edwin’s instrumental role and his key contributions to the transition project: 

“[Edwin] has been instrumental in [coordinating with] stakeholders throughout the process [and] conducting in-depth analyses at every step in our training. [He] offered his extensive knowledge of the campus and its operations to support our Auxiliary partners. Overall [he’s] been a leader in the transition while offering his recommendations as a subject matter expert along the way. It has truly been a pleasure to work with someone mission-focused and dedicated to the successful completion of this project.” 

Auxiliary Services’ Project Specialist Sean Hatfield also praised Edwin for his vital role in driving the project’s success: 

“His expertise, troubleshooting skills, and understanding of complex systems have been vital to both the campus and Auxiliary teams. He maintains a positive attitude, asks excellent questions, and in my opinion, is driving the success of this project.”
