ITS proudly recognizes Sandy Muse as the June 2023 Employee of the Month. 

Sandy was nominated by Executive Director of the Portfolio Management Office Kathy Rondeau-Taylor for her significant contributions to several projects, including the new ITS governance structure, Work Order System project, and eFile Plus project. 

Currently, ITS is in the process of implementing a new governance structure to improve the way the organization works and to address existing limitations. The Portfolio Management Office (PMO) is taking charge of evaluating how new projects are selected, prioritized, and worked on by the different teams within ITS. 

As the PMO evaluates the work methodologies teams are currently utilizing, they’re also identifying workflow changes that would have to be implemented to support the new governance structure. One of the changes identified is the introduction of Scrum, an Agile project management methodology that will allow ITS to deliver products using short cycles of work and bring value to clients faster and more frequently. 

As an IT Business Analyst, Sandy helped define the project workflows in the new governance structure. She was also involved in the development of roadmap and resourcing templates. One of her most valuable contributions was her years of experience with Scrum and Agile project management. Her expertise was extremely helpful in allowing the PMO to integrate the Scrum workflow within the new ITS governance structure. 

In addition, Sandy provided much-needed support to the Impact23 Work Order System project by capturing and creating user stories. As Kathy shared: 

“Her efforts have brought much-needed support and stability to the team and freed up the Project Managers to focus on leading Scrum activities.” 

Sandy is also extending her support on another Scrum project, eFile Plus, by capturing the requirements and user stories. Her contribution has enabled the project to move forward smoothly. 

In May, Sandy took over the role of Scrum Master and now leads the sprints. Her proven expertise and dedication ensure that she is well-equipped to take on this new responsibility.
