  • Faculty and staff are eligible to access Google AI Pro for Education through their UCR Google Workspace accounts.

  • The reduced rate currently being offered is contingent on sufficient university-wide interest for a bulk purchase. If we do not reach the necessary threshold, the discounted rate may not be available. You would still have the option to purchase the license through UCR, though it may be at a different price point. You will not be committing to the higher price point purchase if the bulk purchasing threshold is not reached. Your commitment is only for the discounted price.  

    You will be responsible for renewing your Google AI Pro for Education subscription in subsequent years, should you choose to continue using the service.  

  • The Google AI Pro for Education license provides enhanced capabilities, including access to more advanced AI models, larger context windows for more complex prompts, and deeper integration within Google Workspace apps. In comparison it means more computing power and wider access to the latest models and capabilities that Google has to offer.

  • No. With UCR's Google AI Pro for Education license, any data or prompts you provide while using Gemini or integrated Workspace apps are not used to train Google's public models. Your institutional and personal data remain private and are not accessible by other users or for general model training. 

    If you are using your standard UCR license and account, your data is protected and you can use NotebookLM and Gemini with P3 and P4 data.
