How to Install WalkMe
If you are on a device managed by ITS, WalkMe is already installed on your device! Read these Knowledge Base articles if you are having trouble accessing it.

Note: If you are able to download and install applications on your device without help, this means you have administrative control over your device. You can install WalkMe onto your device yourself using the guidance above.
If you are prompted to enter unknown administrative credentials when downloading or installing applications, this means you're likely on a device that is either managed by ITS or managed by your local IT department. Please contact your IT provider to request help installing WalkMe on your device.

When does the WalkMe Browser Extension (WMBE) collect data?
The WalkMe Browser Extension is only active when you enter one of the pre-authorized UC Riverside applications that has WalkMe configured. Otherwise the browser extension is inactive. This behavior was subject to testing by the Privacy Office and Security Office.

What data is captured?
WalkMe processes:
- Usernames
- Roles (e.g., fund manager, researcher)
- HTML metadata to locate elements on a page
- Analytics metadata (user interactions with the WalkMe tools)
- IP addresses
- Approximate user locations
- Environment properties: browser types, page URLs, and page titles
IP addresses are pseudonymized before being transferred to WalkMe.IP addresses are collected for debugging and security purposes, along with usage statistics of WalkMe functionality, such as specific walkthroughs and help content is being tracked via cookies. Page contents are not collected. Names and other direct personal information (except usernames) are not collected at this time.

Does the WalkMe Browser Extension send content from the application to WalkMe?
No, UC Riverside's WalkMe service is configured at the program level to collect Engagement data, which WalkMe describes as usage statistics to inform administrators of how WalkMe content is being leveraged by the user community.
Interactions between the user and the application, or content housed within the application, are not being tracked nor are they being sent to WalkMe.
